A primary mission
of University of Phoenix is helping working adults achieve their
academic goals as efficiently as possible. Most students
attend one class session and one team meeting per week,
and graduate in only 2 to 3 years.
With 150 locations in 30 states and online programs
via the Internet, the school is now the largest private
university in the United States. Accounting, administration, business,
counseling, criminal
justice, education, human services and management are
among the undergraduate and graduate degrees
offered.
Undergraduate
Admission Overview
To enter
undergraduate programs, applicants must possess a
high school diploma or GED. Also, applicants
entering with less than 24 transferable credits must
also have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0 (if
applying within 24 months of high school graduation)
and either be currently employed, or have one year
full time work experience (plus access to an
organizational environment that allows application
of the concepts taught).
Applicants must
submit test scores and transcripts from colleges,
universities and/or high schools attended. Prior
coursework from accredited associate degrees, or
credit earned through national testing programs may
be considered for academic credit. Professional
training and military service may also be considered
for academic credit.
Graduate
Admission Overview
To enter graduate
programs at University of Phoenix, applicants must possess an undergraduate
degree from an accredited college or university, and
a cumulative GPA of 2.5.
Applicants must
have at least three years of significant full-time
degree related work experience, and be employed. If
not currently employed, applicants must have access
to an organizational environment that allows
application of the concepts taught. Applicants must
submit test scores and transcripts from colleges or
universities attended.
